The 1st 2006 Devmeet.1

Hi All!

Don't ya think its time for another exciting Adelaide Devmeet, the 3rd Running DevMeet!!!

Most of us are holidays, So this would be a good time for a catch up, meet new faces, collabrate ideas, drink and partae etc.

Leave dates, Ideas, Suggestions, etc. for the Devmeet, and they'll be added to the Journal and we'll go from there

So get your thinking hats out and bring out those ideas, Giant Reminder theres about 200 or soo adelaide deviants!! So somewhere small will be inconvienent.

And remeber ur t-shirts!

A date in january.

preferably a weekend. that leaves the 20-22nd or 28-29

A place to have would be a park (which would be close to public transport)

Rymill Park or Bonython.

Now its up to u kiddies to make a decision.

Haha I work 9-5 with the Government on weekdays.

I've never been to a previous devmeet, so slap me if I'm suggesting anything terribly faux pas, but I think sticking with the previous formula (from reading the Journals) of a 1pm lunchmeet in the City is a tried-and-true forumla.

That way, even those of us who are working (are there many?) can usually wrangle an extended lunchbreak

As for a location... Well, Elder Park was done last time... How about Rymill Park this time?

Hmmm weekends are usually better for me, but depending on the day during the week, might be able to do it in January
maybe a Tuesday lunch? What about the beach if not too hot?

I know this is a little way off but I had an idea for March 3'rd at Elder Park. It's the opening of the 2006 Adelaide Festival of Arts.
There is something on called Il Cielo che Danza translated means The Dancing Sky which looks and sounds good. [link]
Plus it's Free

Anyway, just putting the idea out there.

Considering I'm one of the more senior members and back at work now ..... I vote a weekend BBQ ..... try Bonython Park (Port Rd) on sat or sunday arvo .... pending peoples sporting / recreational activities.... plenty of parking for those who drive, and bus routes for those who don't, heaps of room to kick a footy around for those of u feeling energitic and HEAPS of shade!!!

Somewhere reasonably in the cenetre of the city is good .. as it is easy for most people to get there.. e.g catch a train/bus etc..
I've never been to a devmeet before as my mates don't really want to go but if enough notice was given then I'd love to go!

Haha no one would recognise me .. I'd probably just stand on the sideline and watch .. because I'm too scared and shy

p.s - i'm not scary...

Yeah so maybe This time.. so that I don't miss it NOTES could be sent out to all members as a reminder a week or a few days in advance so that i'd try my best to come!!!!!!
